HEALTH AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

The Health Awareness Campaign was organized by Health Club cum B.Ed. Trainees of Fr. Agnel School, Ranchi on 30th October 2019 to enlighten public on health related issues like dengue, malnutrition, waste management, Smoking, Alcoholism, Drug Addiction, Personal Hygiene, and Use of Plastic etc. The students of class 5th to 8th were divided into two groups who rallied in two directions with placards in hand that caught everyone’s eye and thunderous slogans which made people come out of their homes. The climax of the campaign was the street play which delivered a powerful message pertaining to above issues.

The campaign began at 9:00 from school campus. It touched every part of surrounding colonies especially those who badly needed the awareness. Each group was accompanied by eight teachers who motivated and guided the students on the way. Besides educating public, it was also an experience that boosted the self-confidence among students to face the public. The rally was attended by the Fr. Caji Barretto sfx, The Principal and Fr. Joseph Kiran Monteiro sfx who accompanied and encouraged the students. Both the groups reached back to campus by 12:00 PM. The initiative was greatly appreciated by parents and on- lookers.

TEACHERS DAY

Teachers day was celebrated in our school on 5th September 2019 with thrill and glamour organized by the students. The program began at 10:30 am with lighting of traditional lamp to commemorate the day. In doing so the dignitaries hailed the efforts of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan in the field of education on whose birthday the teachers’ day is celebrated. Students made the day special for every teacher by their colorful programs. The dances, song, skit, and speech put forth by students entertained everyone and much more depicted the efforts of each and every teacher. Students with their wishes and gifts appreciated the efforts of teachers and applauded them for choosing this noble profession to guide young one minds.

Fr. Stanley Pereira sfx, the principal in his concluding message stated that everyone is innately teacher. Any one from whom we learn is our teacher. Our first teachers were our parents who taught us good values for good life. He subsequently appreciated the efforts of our teachers who tirelessly work to instill wisdom in students. At the end, the Management and staff were felicitated with bouquet of flowers and gifts. The program ended with the fellowship meal.

PLANT A TREE, SAVE A LIFE

On 28th August 2019 at 04:00 pm, the Eco Club organized the “Tree Plantation Drive” to celebrate “VANMAHOTSAV”. Mrs. Asha Lakra, the Mayor of Ranchi and Mr. Sanjeev Vijayvargiya, the Deputy Mayor of Ranchi Jain were the guests of the day.

The main aim of this drive was to spread and create awareness to protect the environment from degrading. The programme started with a thought provoking message delivered by teacher Beulah Minz of the school on the effects of global warming and the importance of trees in our lives. The students gathered at the entrance of the school. The following

Badam and shade giving saplings were planted by the guests along with Fr. Sebastiao D Souza, Manager of the school, Fr. Stanley Pereira, Principal of the school, Fr. Joseph Kiran Monteiro, Vice-Principal of the school, teachers, sisters and the students at the entrance of the School campus.

All the students were very enthusiastic and thoroughly enjoyed the plantation drive. Tree planting event connected the students to the benefits of trees and fostered environment safety in them. It also brought the students closer to the environment. The program came to an end at 04:45 pm.

INDEPENDENCE DAY

The entire Fr. Agnel family assembled on 15th August in the premises of the school to celebrate the 73rd independence of our nation. The theme for the event was “freedom is our responsibility” The chief guest Mrs. Asha Lakra, the mayor of Ranchi hoisted the flag and launched the day’s programs. Fr. Sebastiao D’ Souza, the manager of the school, Fr. Stanley Pereira, the principal, and Fr. Joseph Kiran Monteiro, the Vice-principal, teachers, parents and students were present to witness this occasion.

The patriotism of everyone attending the program was enthused by patriotic dances, songs, skit and speeches delivered by students. The magnificent performance of school band as well as parade group incited nationalism in everyone. The chief guest in her address appreciated the efforts of school to build nation by educating people. She urged the students to develop skill and talents in order to face future India. She remembered everyone who fought for the nation. She further said it is not enough to remember the sacrifices and the hard work of our forefathers but one must inculcate the same in oneself. The principal in his vote of thanks explained the meaning of the theme and urged everyone to do what is expected. The program ended with sharing of sweets to everyone gathered.
